A fascination for rusty found objects; their innate ability to survive, transform and become primitive, amazes me. I have collected a studio full of objects varying in shape, size and color. They have been collected from railroad stations, parking lots and pit stops. It is this interest in the primitive spirit that has lured me into this process.
Using iron based paint, rust activator, acrylics, rusty found objects and a trowel the process unfolds infusing art and chemistry on the canvas. Each piece is developed with a layering process allowing images to transform and reveal themselves. This collection of work is a reminder of what happens when "external beauty" fades and our primitive nature remains showing the inner core of beauty.
